Why You Shouldn’t Compare Your Life With That of Others

Why You Shouldn’t Compare Your Life With That of Others

We can’t deny that some of us may have dreadful feelings when we observe our friends achieving great success. Considering how we used to study and graduate together but are now being left behind, we might feel terrible.

It’s devastating to reminisce about how we used to have better marks than most of our friends. Yet, in the end, we are stuck in the mud while the rest are getting more admirable jobs, staying in more pleasant places, receiving higher salaries, and living better lives.

For a variety of reasons, we should not, however, compare ourselves to others.

Since we are all equal, avoid comparing yourself to others. They may own something you do not, but they may also desire things you may already possess. This universe was built on balance.

That person you perceive is better than you because of his higher salary might need help with time management.

He might be losing quality time for his family because his high-paying job requires him to keep working after regular hours just to finish essential tasks. He might be trying hard to maintain a good relationship with his family due to a hectic schedule.

Be grateful that you have the opportunity to share special times with your loved ones.

That person you think is better than you because he is working abroad might be experiencing abysmal loneliness. The photos he’s posting on his social media account might be a way of coping and concealing his sadness.

You’ll never know how much he misses his family, but he needs to endure it because he is responsible for putting food on the table.

If you’re family and friends are still close to you, be grateful for it! You’re fortunate!

Even when you feel trapped, you shouldn’t be envious because you are a unique individual with an extraordinary story to tell. Remember that an excellent tale requires more editing and proofreading before publication.

The same might be said for your success, which can take longer to manifest. So, be patient when waiting. Enjoy the good moments and be happy with what you have now.

If you want to be successful, try to avoid following others’ paths because their journeys differ from yours. Instead, forge your route and create your destiny.
