Wishes

There are many things I want to tell you
But words aren’t enough ‘coz every day there’d be something new;
I wish right now you were here with me
For it’s with you, I want to welcome each day.

I wish you were here when I’m cold
That I may have your hands to hold,
I wish you had been here when I was hot
That we can go to the beach and lay in the sand.

I wish you had been here when I was happy
So you’ll be the first to hear my story,
I wish you were here every time I cry
That you may wipe all my tears dry.

I wish you were here whenever I’m mad
That I may calm down when you hold me in your arms,
I wish you were here every time I am in doubt
So you could kiss me, make me forget the world,
Baby, I wish right now you were here
This distance is too much to bear.
