If You Would Only let Me be

If I am a clown
I'll make you smile when you're down.
I'll turn into mornings, all your dark nights
If you would only let me be your light.

If I were the wind
I'd blow away your sorrows, send their end
I won't let your feet hit the ground;
If you would only let me be the wings to fly you around.

If I were Cupid's bow and arrow
I'll strike a pure heart, make it fall for you
I'll put "U" and "I" together
If you would only let me rearrange the letters.

If I were a song,
I'll play melodies of affection to you all along.
I'll twist your every frown into an exquisite smile;
If you would only let me walk towards you down the aisle.
