My Hanging Valentine
Love brings to mind diverse images Emotions intertwined by endless promises; The raw heart thinks of Cupid's arrow, Stringing two feelings from a single bow; A locket worn close to the heart Three incarnadine buds, bright and fragrant; A finger band perhaps Were just a few symbols of love; Yet, my Valentine didn't lure me With things that won't last For He had given much, My world; He inundates with His precious love. But I found Him hanging On the cross dying to restore me from sin; Oh, that my love for Him grew more, For He took the blame for my soul.
