Parts of the Past

Parts of the Past

Declared you fell for me
I signed in it with no vacillation
Hilarity almost drowned me
As I dived into your enthusiasm.

But as the arrow ticked rapidly
Warmth departed from thee
Amid the blooming faithfulness on my part
You burned the mud and cracked my heart.

Oh, how I miss the way we were
In your wrist, you wore my silver name so dear
But the merriments I once fought to last
They are all now in the past.
